1) Try a different route. Trail running is fantastic.
2) Set a goal. Sign up for a race in the future and train for it. A 5K is 3.1 miles. I find racing extremely addictive and the social aspect is fantastic. Or work on increasing pace or distance.
3) Run outside. If you are on treadmill, you are going to be bored.
4) Don't feel obligated to run everyday. Run 3 times a week and do something else on the other days.
5) Make sure you are comfortable. If you are working too hard or are in pain, running will not be fun.
6) Grab a magazine like Runner's World (http://www.runnersworld.com). They have a lot of motivational articles and tips.
7) Go longer. Running 1 mile doesn't allow the endorphins to quite kick in. I don't feel like I've had a quality workout until I've done at least 3. Try going longer.
If all else fails, you may not be suited to be a runner. Don't make yourself miserable over it, find something else you enjoy doing and move on.
Good luck.

My solution to boredom was to buy a treadmill and a DVD/TV. Then I get TV shows on DVD from Netflix, which are usually about 42 minutes long without the commercials -- perfect duration for a work-out! I only let myself watch those DVDs when I'm ON the treadmill, so I end up looking forward to my workout instead of dreading it.
If this isn't doable, I'd suggest downloading podcasts or books-on-tape for your MP3 player -- then you can listen to stories or comedy or etc. while you run instead of just music. Many public libraries have "books on tape" that are actually on CDs now, which you could transfer to your MP3 player like you do with music.

Assuming you are running outside, try running a different course every day. Pick your city's favorite site and plan a course that runs towards or through it. I run in San Francisco, right below the Golden Gate Bridge and the view never ceases to amaze me.
If you are running on a treadmill, try to alter speeds and try to set a new "personal" record every time, say, try to run a mile in 9:30 minutes instead of 9:55 and so on. The challenge makes it so much more fun!

Bring a friend. You two can run and then grab lunch, or maybe even a healthy smoothie afterwards.
Maybe try this- run for a mile (or a half mile), then rest and grab something to drink. Walk around, just regularly, and enjoy the beautiful day. Then jog home. It's nice to have a distraction from straight running for long periods of time.

Well, run with a friend, a dog, or set up for yourself a reward system.
Like, if you do really good at running and meet a goal, like going everyday, or a new distance or time improvement, then treat yourself to something nice like a new pair of running shoes or an ice cream sundae.
Hey here's an idea, tie little bells to your shoes and make music while you run!

wear an mp3 player..or something that plays good music
get hyped up on energy just before the run...(ie: caffeine, carbs..)
-but not too much, cuz you don't want to cramp.
take a dog or buddy with you
run in a new neighborhood
wear spandex around your legs
and some good shoes
think about something you're passionate about..
