I can't believe there are still people who believe george washinton really existed. Through the science of mathematics I will show you hay seeds that it's impossible. There are over 38,867 B&B's, hotels, private homes that "claim" George Washinton slept here..well 365 X 40 years would be 14,600 nights the mythical Washington would have slept. Washington's image was "created" for the weak colonist who needed someone to believe in, we have no pictures, just writings that were written by mad men who had a cause...and were too weak to think for themselves...so they believe in the so-called mythical washington they call the father of our country...LOL...how crazy!
There are 100's of contradictions too many to list now but..please quit believing in this myth!
What your thoughts?

Oh.. you are just tooo good. Nice parallel, and nice try. We have a grave, and his belongings. Those that say he slept in there homes are mostly not telling the truth, to feel important. There were no pictures, because they did not exist. We have SCIENTIFIC proof that he did exist. You tried to parallel this to god, but failed. The scientific method can be applied to prove Washington's existence, but can not be applied to show gods existence. This is why Christians hate science, unless they misunderstand it and think that they have a point (like you). There are cameras now, so how come god/Jesus has not posed for a picture? Washington's existence has had OFFICIAL witnesses. Yes, you can say that about god/Jesus, but those witnesses are all disqualified because they say that there was a guy who walked on water, healed with a touch instantly. We use patterns of proof with these things. George Washington was said to be a president, and there have been presidents, and there is one, you can go see him. George Washington lead his men into battle, and there are generals in the army, you can go see them. It goes on and on, but comes down to the fact that Washington was possible, and there was real proof, and god/Jesus are impossible. I can say that your great great great grand parents did not exist, but I could find the graves and records. We can do this with Washington. You can say that the records are false, so then no person from Washington's time or beyond could have existed, but they did. With you logic, I can argue that, but then that would contradict every religion/shred of logic. Like I said, nice try.

Not quite analogous, considering there are not thousands of "other" George Washingtons that contradict the one of which we know. That, and there are hundreds of historical references to GW (which do not contradict each other), compared to the christian god's (and jesus's) ONE incredibly self-contradicting, horrific book. Not only that, most of the references to GW were written at the time of his life or shortly after. The bible wasn't even started until the generation that was alive at the time of Jesus's life had died (tricky, tricky, so no one could contradict the writer).
You think you're being funny, but honestly, this isn't clever.
EDIT: And, I can see, most of these answerers didn't get your point at all. Why is everyone on Yahoo answers brain-damaged?

My thoughts? 1) What has this got to do with religion? 2) Did it ever occur to you that people advertised that Washington slept there because it gave their place some prestige and not because he actually slept there? 3) There aren't any photos because photography had yet to be invented, but there are many paintings. 4) Most accomplished, learned historians (that leaves you out) believe that Washington existed and 5) You're an idiot. Nuts and an idiot!

Have you ever stopped to think that maybe the Bed's & Breakfasts, Hotels and Private homes that "claim" George Washington slept there... are lying?
Or are you one of those people who believe everything you see on the internet and email forwards?

I like how you're trying to compare this to the Bible. Actually, I believe scientist have recently done DNA testing on his uniforms to make sure they are actually his so they can display them at the Smithsonian.
However, what you're trying to say is true about EVERY area of history, not just about Christianly, the Bible, Jesus and so-forth. We really can't be 100% positive about anything in history because we weren't there as eye-witnesses.
Proof is what you make of it.

George Washington never claimed to be god nor did others claime him to be a god....an evangelical religion does not use the teachings of GW to support their religion...and people don't try and force GW's beliefs on me or others....so there isn't much of a parallel to draw upon.
frankly, I don't care if GW existed or not....either way the country is the way it is now.

um..no pictures because a camera wasn't invented yet sugar! But I really like these kinds of ideas! Lot's of places "claim" to be "THE ORIGINAL" such as "oh, we are the first original best" and so on and so forth but it doesn't mean they actually are, it's just a claim, most likely to boost their business. Why would you want a knockoff or less than the best? Well anyway, I still like that your thinking and challenging I would like to hear of your other contradictions... umm am I stupid?? haha

Let's see the government built a monument costing a large amount of $$$ for the time it was built to glorify a myth? Hmmmmm...seems doubtful to me. Yes, he's been elevated to a mythical proportion...his not existing is very doubtful though. Nah...HE IS NOT A MYTH...

Nice analogy. People believe the craziest things, don't they? I mean, who would want to believe in an all-loving George Washington anyway? (note the sarcasm)
