rain upstairs, came back down stairs and the dog is chowing down hard! I mean HARD! Dude is going to town on your food! Slobbering, chewing, smacking, just tearing your pizza up! There's like oh, 3 slices left. What do you do? Do you yell, "BAD DOG!" And smack the dog? Or do you get down on the floor with the dog and start eating the pizza?

Let the dog finish the pizza... WARNING!: Do not go near the dog for the next couple of days. There will be some nasty farts rolling out of that dog as a result of pizza digestion.

I would just give it all to the dog at that point.
And no you do NOT yell at the dog - it is not his fault; it is yours. You are the human, you are SUPPOSEDLY smarter than he is - why would leave food out in front of a dog - who moves thru life based on instinct? It's not "BAD DOG" ; it's "BAD OWNER"
And feed your dog right before or during the time you eat.
This is like if you were to pull down your pants, bend over and walk thru the gay area of town and then to complain that someone asked you out!
Be a little smarter next time.

I'd give the pizza to the dog and grab a salad. Then I'd sit on the floor and thank the dog for making me not eat greasy junk.=)

I dont have a dog so it must be my neighbours dog. but Id let the dog eat it and order a new pizza. i can afford it so Id let this poor dog eat it. But tell my neighbour to look after their dog and feed it next time.

you have to dominate the counter, never let him up there every time he tries or even looks up at the counter you have to snap at him, then you can put whatever you want on the counter and hell know its yours
you have to be the pack leader and set the rules
its a dog not a human, there is no reasoning
and if your going to eat the pizza don't eat it with him put on the table and don't let him look at you either

Eat it with the dog. I share all of my food with my dogs and gleefully ignore how everyone says it's bad for them. It's good for them and me, too, to be an animal now and then.
PS. Next time you buy him food, get steak and eat it before he gets to it as a "payback".
