After one year, or 20 lbs, according to most car seat makers, for forward-facing seats... at least wait until he's 12 months. Still needs at least a 3 point restraint, though. Booster seats are for ages 3 and up

My last child was 10 lbs when he was born. The infant carseat only held up to 20 lbs. I went out and purchased an all in one carseat that holds up to 80 lbs. You can put the rear facing for the first year and then flip them forward once they hit a year. This is what I would recommend you do. My son is 10 months now and almost 30 lbs, but I still have him rear facing, although he is not in the infant carseat, he is in the convertible.
Good luck!

My 9 month old is in a toddler carseat(rear dealing with) and is 22 lbs. once he hits 20 lbs then that is okay, and foward dealing with at age a million. in case you spot on your seat that is going to allow you to already know the load limits and such for each certain seat.

I think what your asking is when can she be put into an upright convertable seat right? the weight limit ranges from 5-100 lbs.. she can be moved now if you get one that is safe rear facing that will accomodate her weight..I recomend the cosco alpha omega elite..She is not ready for a high back booster...

Check the car seat requirements but remember rear facing until one year old AND twenty pounds it's federal law not just a good guideline. The toddler seat my daughter has goes as low as five pounds and twenty inches, I used it rear facing from the time she was six months old, and just turned it around a week ago.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, way too young right now. You must wait for the toddler seat until around the age of two. Right now put him in a forward facing carseat for babies from infant up to forty pounds. That is what your baby needs right now, not a toddler booster seat.
