The classic Sex and the City question. How many times will you (people in general) truly fall in love in a lifetime? And does it make one love less great (important, strong, meaningful) if you break up, time passes, and that now you love someone else? Can you ever REALLY love more than one person?

If you spend your time worrying about missing a "great love" you'll likely end up missing the point. Love isn't some magic thing that just appears. It is a process. Like a plant, it must have plenty of fertile ground to take root and grow. It may bloom suddenly, or slowly creep up over time. But it may wither, and it may die. It takes time and attention to keep in top form.

Even this analogy is not entirely accurate, though, because love is not a "thing". It is the relationship between to people; their actions and feelings towards one another. As such, there is no fixed number; we may encounter a number of people who we are compatible with or very few. Some we will be attracted to, others not so much.

Remember that STC and the strip it was based on are entertainment- fabrications perhaps inspired reality, but fictional nonetheless.
