How many Americans support Illegal Aliens by using their services?

Question

Where I live many illegals operate small scrap businesses, and trucking companies, and food services, and construction businesses. It is hard to tell which ones hire illegals, and which ones don't, before using their services ask for citizenship verification of every person that will be working on the job. You wouldn't want a criminal remodeling your kitchen would you?
It is not against the law to ask, and takes the guess work right out of play. When I walk into my local grocier, and the person behind the counter barely speaks English, I ask for a manager, take them to the side, and question the citizenship, I've even gone as far as insisting that a visa if there is one shown to me. It takes just a little effort on my part. If the police, and my government will not uphold my laws, I as a citizen am obligated to do so. Our police preach to us all of the time about reporting crime, and this appears to be the biggest crime in America. 20 Million Large

By doing this I not only protect myself, but I protect the real immigrants by assuring they are getting the jobs, illegals are also stealing from them. I haven't heard much said on that issue.

Your right it doesn't always work, but it puts the business on notice that you are checking them out. If gives the company a way to quietly fire the illegal, and hire a legal one.

except.. I hope if all US citizens only bought from supermarket and the like, that only hired US citizens and not illegals... but there is enough illegals (15-25 million) that they almost would have their own economy if you know what I mean.

All Americans in one fashion or another support the services of illegal aliens. But I doubt that most actually do it consciously.

Unfortunately I believe all your efforts to avoid using illegal alien services are futile. If you buy groceries at a local supermarket, then you already support illegal aliens who work on farms. If buy a house or rent an apartment, then you probably supported an illegal alien who did construction. Even buying cotton yarn to sew your own sweater or shirt would be supporting an illegal alien since chances are an illegal alien picked the cotton. Avoiding these necessary products are difficult to do.

I don't support employing illegal aliens, but the fault of hiring them are Americans. The US immigration laws are quite lax on hiring and employing illegal immigrants. Employers are rarely if ever penalized for hiring illegal aliens. I believe this is the true reason illegal aliens can comfortably exist in the U.S. If we really want to close our borders from illegal immigrants then the best way to do it is to penalize those who employ illegal immigrants. If we can truly eliminate the demand for illegal immigrants (which is labor) then and only then will Americans and legal immigrants be the true working force providing services.

Many Americans hire illegals, they work for cheap and also illegals get ahold of false papers. There is a racket going on here where I live, they buy ID cards and get SSN cards from these guys for a small fortune, which in turn means that someone is having their identity ripped off in the process. I think they need to really crack down on people who do this. It's wrong. I feel for the illegals because they have to fed their kids, I'm not heartless. But something should have been done years ago.

I understand your concern, but I would like to let you know that im sure your time is much more precious than you think.Why spend your important time venting or ratting people out;people who are just working to make a living and support their hungary family.Thank God that you're not the one who has to migrate to another country to find a better way of life while suffering from injustices.Don't we have criminals here in the US who happen to be American Citizens or residents? Im sure an American Criminal worked in another person's house before;maybe your own house! You are not obligated to rat people out if your life or your families house is not in direct danger;thats if you are God's child, by the way. We are all exposed to danger;on the bus, in the market, in school,etc.Many of the people who endanger our country happen to be Americans aswell.Put your self in other people's shoes and your bitter heart will definately turn into a loving and generous one...... Furthermore, why don't you focus on the bigger issues such as the War with Iraq.This my friend ,puts us in much more danger than "the poor, unworthy, boat people , and uneducated immigrants who are working to better their lives and their families'." I can't understand why ppl on here defend the border jumpers, THEY SHOULD GET SWORN IN, JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE, WHY CAN'T the illegal alien supporters see that (illegals) are squashing ppl in other countries chances of becoming citizens.

Are you going to stop buying food altogether, or how about driving on the roads, or going to the mall. Because in reality almost 80% of the food we grow and eat in the country is touched by "illegals" somewhere along the line. Construction companies employ huge amounts of "documented" workers with false papers and no way to check to see if they are real or not. It's easy to buy false documents with real social security numbers attached to them, how do you think all of the credit fraud happens? I know plenty of undocumented workers who speak better than some citizens of this country. Are you just checking for the obvious one, hispanics, maybe asians. Are you checking for Africans or Europeans? Hey how about Canadians? Please lets get serious, get a real guest worker program in place and stop pointing fingers. They are coming here for the benefits of being here, just like 99% of our forefathers. You aren't going to keep them out or stop them from finding ways to work. Legalize them and let them pay for the services they use through taxes and fees for coming here.

I think it's great that you are taking matters into your own hands. I don't use any illegals for any services. My uncle owns a construction company and he will NOT hire illegals. I totally agree with what you are doing. I think it's awsome.

I don't use services or goods from illegals. Doing so would be participating in the commission of a crime since they are criminals and you would be helping to support them

I support them. I go to Mexican grocery stores, Chinese fish markets, McDonalds. I dont mind helping other people regardless of their status. I would do the same for Americans that were trying to better their lives in other countries.

this doesnt always work some illegals buy papers that look real theres no way you would be able to tell the diffrence unless you have a way of checking to see it their social sec # is valid
