The Ford motor company is experimenting with ethonol (ETOH) 85% taken from good old corn!! That would dcrease our need for relying on middle-eastern countries for our crude-oil (about 70% of all imported in the U.S.), just as Brasil DOES use ETOH taken from sugar cane. They actually only rely on about 5% of ALL their oil needs (gas, home heating).They actually started this conversion about 20 years ago!

Yes. If we had been smart enough to do the same after the embargo in the 70's, we wouldn't be in the situation we are in today. Instead prices went back down and went on about our business.
