I ran into my first love the other night at a bar. We dated for 2 years when I was younger. He was horrible to me back then, always cheating on me. He took me to lunch the following day and said that he has always thought about me and that I was the first and only person he has been in love with. He wants me to give him another chance to prove that he has changed and to treat me right this time. He said he wants to treat me the way he should have in the past.
But it still seems he is the same. All his 'friends' are girls he previously hooked up w/, he is a pathological flirt, and he works at a night club. But, it has been like 7 years, so maybe he has changed. Or, is once a cheater always a cheater?

I hope so; they have to find something better first, then they change without much effort....but the only way is if they find personal pain in womanizing and peronal pleasure in being with one person, faithfully. This takes many hours of focusing everyday, and it has to be a subconscious thing too, so they definately have to find value in a better way of life-it's really up to that person to grow up. There is someone I'm praying will turn around but the sad part is that a changed person won't see the benefit in changing until AFTER they've done it....so for them to believe their life will be better, they must already have faith in possibilites.

I can tell by what you are saying he thinks he is a player and can play you. You will never meet a real man at a bar. If he is so changed, then what the heck was he doin there? I can tell he was out hunting for prey. I bet you slept with him too. FOOL!.. Run for the hills. Don't look back.

dear. by asking this quesiton, i think you already have the answer to it. leapords don't change their spots. i know too many ppl are like that. i am not to tell you what to believe. you can be careful and sus him out for awhile if you have no boyfriend right now. just hang out and stuff but don't get too intimate. this way you can give him a chance and see for yourself.

There is a small chance of a change, but protect yourself.

i doubt he has or can change.why take the chance if it didn't work before.instead of going back to your first love, why don't you wait for your true love?
