I'm crying at commercials, movies, quotes, you name it, I cry at it. Just a recent affliction, and I'm not PMSing or on my period. Any ideas???

There are many reasons. Some people have already hit on some (like hormones, eating and sleeping disruptions, etc. My question to you is have you had a recent memory pop up about something that upset you as a girl? Have you had any recent rather distressing occurrances -- i. e. stressors in addition to the stress level you were handling alright before this crying started. Did you move, you parents separate, you get pregnant, you lose you friend???

You might have an underlying physical problem, or you may need to see a counselor. I know it is a problem. I seem to be blessed with depression. I can't seem to get rid of it and crying is how it comes out any time I feel passionately about something. Paxil helped me a lot, but counseling didn't ever get to the bottom of it. I wish I could have figured it out myself. Now that I don't have a doctor anymore, I don't have the Paxil and the problem is back. IT IS A LOT WORSE WHEN I AM TIRED. Let me know if you ever want to talk, you can just respond to this email.

Good luck!

Is it possible that you could be depressed? There does not have to be "a reason" to be depressed such as a bereavement or or other loss. Sometimes it just happens. People can have a genetic predisposition for depression.
I could be hormonal too. Talk with your doctor. If it is a hormonal problem it can be corrected. If you have clinical depression there are many new medications that can help you.

Either your genetics or something you're eating is messing with your hormones a lot. Perphaps you're on medication. That would be it. I'd try to eat well, sleep well, perphaps meditation, yoga, and spirtuality would be helpful to make you a more balanced human.

And you're not pregnant?

Perhaps your hormones are going crazy for some reason or maybe you're depressed. I would suggest seeing a Doctor.

Are you under a lot of stress? Possibly depression. If it continues, talk to your doctor.
