Being able to live in a Nation that provides highways, defense, medical research, police protection, Social Security, Medicare, and the many other functions of Government costs money. Those things aren't free and if they are important to you then paying a quarter out of every dollar you make shouldn't be that big of a concern, especially when you know what the alternatives are.

Death and taxes are but 2 certainties in life and when you stop to look at the many programs, facilities, and expert personnel that your money pays for, it makes it a little easier. Sure, there are a few things that some people would rather not pay for and those things differ from person to person. I myself, would rather see more money go to healthcare programs and less to defense programs, but that's me.

Be thankful you live in a Nation where you do work and make enough to pay your family's bills and if it costs a little out of each dollar you make then try to get Senators and Congressmen elected that share the same ideas you do about how your tax dollars can be spent.

It is called a progressive tax system. It takes more from people who don't require those funds to live and less from people who need the money for food.

It isn't great we really need to switch to a plan such as the Fair Tax. A progressive sales tax that charges every new item once is preferable to our current system of paying people to figure out how to pay our taxes.

This is the problem with wealth re-distribution, it reduces the motivation to be a productive citizen. For now it's still better to work harder and make more money, but because we're paying for all the crack whores who pop out another child to get a raise we're not getting paid as much as we should for our hard work.

That's why you need to create deductible items. If you're smart about it, it's still better to earn more money than to shy away from monetary opportunities. Saving tax is all about preplanning.
