Some of these people in here are disgusting.
Anyway, family style is always nice. This way people can eat what they prefer. Usually you get three or four meats and lots of sides, so no one can complain that they don't eat beef, or the chicken had some nasty sauce on it. Besides, family style is cheaper. I'm always happy when I see the plates already on the tables at a wedding; FAMILY STYLE!!!!!!

I always prefer a buffet or food stations to a sit down dinner. Roast chicken, parsley potatoes and a vegetable makes a very good menu as far as I'm concerned. I was at a wedding where they did family style with bowls on the table and that was good too. Simple food is good because there will be something for everyone. Not everyone can eat gourmet food, I know I can't. I have a very simple palate. good luck.

This is an awfully broad question, which makes it difficult to answer. It would be easier to answer if you offered a few options.
At a traditional wedding people generally expect to eat high-class types of food. It's good to offer a selection for the guests - a chicken dish, a seafood dish, a beef dish, and a vegetarian dish, if possible. If not, chicken and beef are usually the safest.
Talk to a catering company and see what they suggest, what is common, what most people get. Trends usually exist for a reason, and following one with regards to this would probably be safe.

I just attended a wedding where the bride was Mexican and the groom was Korean. They had a fabulous Mexican and Korean dinner buffet. They served small pieces of chicken in mole chocolate sauce as well as Korean-style steak with veggies in lettuce wraps. Although they couldn't find a caterer to do both cuisines, the initial caterer worked with the second one to make it happen, then serve all the food.

What ever the happy bride and groom like. My husband and I paid for our own wedding and we had what we wanted. We had fried chicken and bar-b-q. Make this a day for the two of you. Not what everyone else wants. We have been married over 10 years and we always give the same advise about the wedding day - make it yours. We had a ball and still remember it fondly - and with very few if any regrets.

Lol.. yah, you need more details. ;)
And I'm not sure if that was a non-gender "you guys" or specifically to men... but, I'll offer my advice.
Have some options. We had a pasta dish (it's not a wedding if there isn't pasta in my family, and it also worked well for a vegetarian option), a chicken dish, a beef dish, and a fish dish. Everyone was happy and it really wasn't difficult to plan.

my cousin got married last fall and went with country style I think it is called. There was roast beef and chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, corn, peas and gravy. For desert it was a mile high apple pie with caramel drizzle and vanilla ice cream. Of course there was deserts and fruit to dip in the chocolate fountain later at night.

At our reception we had a buffet......marinated chicken, hand-carved beef, mixed veggies, red potatoes, salad, rolls (seems like I'm forgetting something) and it was $11/person. It was EXCELLENT food too. I would say stick with chicken/beef...most people like one of those. Or skip the whole big food reception and just have hors d'ouvres or desserts....

I don't think you can wrong with some kind of chicken and beef (prime rib is popular, but it can get pricey). We had blackened chicken and a pork tenderloin, both were awesome. Good luck!

Homemade brownies with a ganja-filled center. Then I'd prefer to eat everything.
