I think it is legal as long as there is no way to verify how old the other person is and as long as you ask how old they are. Child pornography laws assumes that you knew, or could have reasonably estimated the victim's true age. As we all know just because people say they're someone doesn't mean they actually are.

no its not legal if that person turns out to be 13 or 14 just because someone says they r 18 it doesn't make it true...but if they r over 18 for a fact then yeah go for it...but be careful!!

Well, if both people are over 18 years old and happy to take part. Then it should be legal

well yea they have to say that they are over 18 else if theyr not, u should really stay away from them. it means alot of trouble for u. havent u ever seen those nbc shows where the reporter acts like the innocent underaged girl and when the guy is comin over hes confronted by the reporter and the cops. its funny .

No reason it should be illegal...chat is 'private' discussion between individuals...porn is legal and cyber sex generally doesn't occur in public, unless in an adult-only forum...

i suppose it's not illegal. some may argue that if you try to cyber with someone under 16 you could be contributing to the deliquencey of a minor, but that's stretch

not illegal. Stupid and useless, but not illegal. However it can be illegal if the person on the other end is lying. Then it is considered child pornography.

no it shouldnt be illegal, its kind of scary though, if it bothered you that much you probably could report it to the police as a public display of affection.
