A lot of foods safe for humans are poisonous to cats. Onions, garlic, tomatoes, raw potatoes, chocolate, grapes, raisins, avocadoes, and several other foods are toxic to cats. Unless you are 110% sure it's safe, don't feed it to your cat, and even then, only as an occassional treat. Moreover, cat food is nutrionally balanced; human food isn't.

The basic answer is no. A cat's digestive system won't know what to do with it. There may be a few nutrients it may extract, but the bulk of it will pass through for you to scoop it up later. Cat food with vegitable fillers will only make the cat feel full, but will not support health and growth.
There are time, like when a cat is ill, that it will instincltively seek out fiber, to help it clear out its digesive tract. You may see your cat eating grass. The grass may or may not help the cat, but its instinct does not tell it any more than that.
Re: store bought cat food, read the label to make sure you are buying meat content, not a lot of filler. The better brands will and essential nutrients, and more than one brand offers varieties geared to specific age groups.

Cats primarily require a diet that's majority high protein. They CAN have the things you listed, but probably don't want them. Some cats like bread -- milk is okay as a rare treat, but it's not great for their little tummies. cooked rice with chicken is okay. I doubt they'd eat carrots or tomato. AVOID ANYTHING WITH ONION -- be careful of gravies and sauces and read labels carefully to make sure no onion residue (onion flakes, powder, etc.)
They can have little things once in a while as a treat, but it's best to keep them on high-end cat food formulated for their individual age, weight, indoor/outdoor status, etc. We want healthy babies who will be with us for as long as possible!

Cats are predators and are carnivores, meaning "meat eaters".
Humans can eat both vegetables and meat, Humans are called omnivores meaning they can eat both meat and veggies.
Cows and horses can eat vegetables only, meaning vegetarians.
Not only is a veggie not something your cat would enjoy, it is not good for it..... as it does not have the proper enzymes to break it down....meaning it would be undigested.
Milk is OK occationally but can cause worms. Bread is made from wheat. Wheat digest like a veggie...it turns into carbohydrate, so would not be good.
Hopes this helps!!!

When I was growing up I had a cat that liked Chinese food as much as I do! I don't think it would hurt the cat if it is only an occasional treat. My cat lived 17 years.

Yes they can eat human food. Strangely our cats prefer human food rather than those Meow Mix and stuff. But be warned that some foods should not be eaten by cats, they can make their fur bad or even diarhea

My cat eats everything but she loves raw venison the most. I normally let her have the scraps of anything she wants off my plate when I am done eating. But those are only treats, She is an indoor cat and too scared to go outside so I feed her the purina indoor cats formula. As far as non-meat things her favorite is chili-cheese frito's

Cats are carnivores, so they mainly should be eating meat. A little of this and that probably won't hurt, but anybody who thinks they can turn their cat into a vegetarian is an idiot.

yes they can, but don't over-do it. Too much milk will give them diarrhea and too much human tuna can cause brain damage. No joke. Veterinarian told me this. However if you buy the tuna in the cat food section, it's fine for them and can have as much as they want as long as you don't care how fat that get... which could be bad, too.

People food is not meant for animals. I do give my cats fresh Salmon or Fresh Tuna once in awhile not to often. But that is it other wise they will get fat if you feed them all kinds of ppl food. If they are fed good cat or dog food They get all they need.
