I met this guy John through a good friend of mine. He told me flat out that he likes me, and I don't know about what all of the other girls on here think but when a guy calls me beautiful after just meeting me one time, ya know how it goes. Well, we have been talking on the phone, and I invited him to go to the movies last night, I'm confused, because is he just shy or something, because he didn't try to kiss me, hold my hand, or anything like that, he was putting his arm behind his head like he was serously thinking about doing it, but he didn't. My question is this, is he just a shy guy? Or is he like me and doesn't want to move too fast, but at the end of the night I gave him a hug.

I'm sure he likes you or he would have not gone out with you, guys don't go on dates will women they have no interest in.
He is just nervous and a little shy, mabey you should make the first move, he will not think you are easy for doing so, just give him a kiss goodnight on your next date, and he will feel relieved and less nervous about kissing you the next time.

He might be shy or a gentleman- I'd lean towards "gentleman" b/c if he was shy he wouldn't have told you he liked you flat out b/c for any guy that takes guts. Just give him a chance. Besides, what girl doesn't want a guy thats polite and not trying to get anything out of you!

In my opinion I think it was nice of him not to try suttin on the first date. I think its a sign of respect. I think he does like you or else he wouldnt of told u that u r beautiful n he sure wouldnt of accepted the invitation to the movies if he didnt like u. I say give it a lil time but make sure u show some interest on ur part, he may be tryin to wait n c if u r really interested in him 2 c if he should even try to make a move.

He does sound pretty shy, but was somehow bold enough to admit he likes you. Perhaps indicate to him that you'd be ok with it if he did something... or purposely watch a scary movie with him and hold his hand or cuddle up close to him at a scary part (even if you don't really find it that scary). Lol if he's like most guys he'll feel good, like he's protecting you or something.

If he told you that he likes you then he prolly does. It sounds to me like he is just afraid to make the first move or possibly insult you by moving to fast. Next time you go out with him, make a move and kiss him and see where it goes from there.

I think he is just shy and not sure about what your reaction will be toward him trying to hold your hand or kiss you. I think he really likes you and you should be happy!

Maybe he is trying to show you respect...You shouldnt be all over each other in the beginning. The easy ones are for booty calls, the good ones you date, marry whatever. Just enjoy hes being sweet.

through all my relationships i hav had two guys like this
well first of all do you like him alot?
if you do: make the first move
guys like this of course are well shy they don't know how to do this kinda stuff
cause they are afraid of you getting mad
If you don't well just let nature takes its way
you might end up likeing him back in the end

he may not wnat to move too fast, you gatta consider this a kiss on the first date, how many times has he/she done this. the hug is okay, but don't try to force him in ot moving at a pace you may want to go or you could drivve him away.
