Why are you atheists even here? You say you don't believe in God, then why are you in the religion/spirituality section? First of all, atheist is not a religion because in order for it to be a religion it has to be about faith. You don't have faith that there is a god therefore it can't be a religion. And second of all, it has nothing to do with spirituality either because God is a spirit and you don't believe in God so you can't possibly believe in spirituality and if you do you are just contradicting yourself. So, why are you here?

If we're going to discuss religion and spirituality, even if it's with opposing views, the place to do so is the "Religion and Spirituality" section. Atheist have opinions about religion as well.

If we're going to pick on theists, the "Religion and Spirituality" section is the place to do so.

If we want to learn something new about religion and spirituality, the "Religion and Spirituality" section is the place to do it.

Just to make it clear, the religion and spirituality section is to ask and answer religion and spirituality questions, the name of the section indicates the "topic" of the questions and not the "label" of the people who participate here.

- Atheists don't believe in god or gods, that doesn't mean they don't belong to a religion or aren't religious.

- This is both the religion AND spirituality section. Some people come here to learn about spirituality, but, end up answering questions about religion also.

- Everyone, no matter what their beliefs (or lack of beliefs) are, want their view to be heard.

- Many atheists think religion is dangerous so they are going to let people know that.

- Many atheists think religion is doing the world a big disfavor and they are going to do what they can to change that.

- You don't have to believe in god(s) in order to discuss god(s), the Bible, or other "holy" books.

- There are questions directed towards atheists in this category.

There are many reasons why atheists, agnostics, and other non-believers ask and answer questions in this category. What about believers in god though, why are you here? If you really believed in god, then why wouldn't you ask it directly? It seems to me that you either don't actually believe in god, or, you're severely disrespecting it.

Before I begin, I would like to let you know I am a Catholic. Now, you can be spiritual and not religous, spirituality and religon, though complementary to eachother, are not the same thing. Second, the internet is not a church, people are free to roam as they please and answer questions on any topic they like. Just because someone may be an athiest, does not mean they cannot view the religion/spirituality section. Maybe they are just trying to get a rise out of you, in which case it is apperant they are doing a great job.

With all due respect, there is an awful lot more to religion and spirituality. God represents the infinite unity and order of creation, Yet the world we live in is still strongly divided over the translations of the realisation of the heavens.

Some people are just curious in the diversitys of culture.

But some just want to undermine the concepts of unity via God

Because of a deep need to understand how is it possible for educated people to believe in some mumbo jumbo put down as wisdom by some shepherds way back when humanity believed that everything was caused by one god or another. Gods come and go according to the moods of their creator(us). But knowledge stays. It is hard for us to accept anything on faith. we need proof. we are the doubting Thomases. What makes you believe in some megalomaniac god who needs your love or you fry for eternity. A god who visits on his creations the most appalling disasters simply because we do not show him enough respect. He is supposedly omniscient so he should know exactly what he has created without needing confirmation of our devotion to him. You can keep this psychotic god. Enjoy

I thought this was the religion and spirituality section, not the "if it's not about Jesus it's not religion OR spirituality" section. Interest in spirituality, and correcting the misconceptions people seem to have about non-believers.

Atheists have faith that there is no God- so they must be a religion?? Or at least have an opinion about spirituality?? They obviously want to express their opinion regaurding their beliefs, just as you.

This is not the "only if you believe in god" section. I have read the bible and studied religion. I probably know more about your religion than you do. Why shouldn't I be here?

First, I want you to tell buddhists that they can't be spiritual. When you're done with that, I want you to realise that the word there is "religion" not "religious". I have an opinion on religion, and so I'm here to share it. Any more problems I can help you with?
