Martial arts students are not ' losers '. Martial arts are more than breaking boards and concrete blocks. It is the art of self - defense which focuses the body, mind and spirit to become disciplined with every movement. It is not used for attack, but for defense. Furthermore, irrespective of whether or not the assailant has martial arts training, or even if the individual is a serial killer, you should be able to subdue this assailant because of your training and discipline.

No, martial arts students aren't losers.

First, learning martial arts can improve our own health. By learning martial arts we can have a flexible and fast body, as well a healthy mind.

Second, martial arts can be used as deterrence. In my school, to avoid being bullying by older and bigger girls, I learn taekwondo and aikido. Experiences have teach me that my fancy fast kick was useless against a much bigger opponents. But my it serve me well as deterrence. Knowing my martial arts belts, bad girls always think twice before bullying me, while actually they could beat me.

Yes, it is true that my martial arts cannot beat a gun pointed at my head, nor stopping a big and strong guy. But if you are a serial killer, would you attack me while knowing my martial arts? or you would find another easier prey?

true martial art students search for the means to be strong
not learn to beat up people
it's true that some people have shallow mind that limits them to solving thing with violence so they learn martial arts because of what they see in movies

Now what you said a bout martial artists being serial killers and not beating a trigger finger i strongly hate what you said
because think of it...
how many killers use martial arts?
and how many use guns?

We are not training to beat people up. We are learning how to control our bodys and others so that we can take control of bad situations. That doesn't mean fighting or killing. That means ending a conflict on our terms. You should really think before you speak.
The profile for serial killers also says that most are middle aged white guys that are alone with their computers all day. Sound familiar?

No!! I practice martial arts. Students who practice martials, do not train to fight other peoplebuild. We practice martial arts to gian our self-confidence. We practice martial arts to learn how to protect ourselves and our love ones, from danger. Martial Arts students, use their martial arts skills, as a defence, as a last resort. We dont attack people and fight people, why? because we are discipline. Unlike people who go around looking for fights.
And you said something, about martial arts will not be effective agianst a "trigger hand"? well, if you practice, Ninpo Taijutsu, then you would know that, it is very effective aginast a trigger hand.

Martial arts is an excellent way to stay fit, meet people and develop self-discipline. Profile of serial killers include diaper use too, so does that mean that we should not use diapers?

Martial Arts training involves a lot of self-control and self-confidence training as well. You can't generalize and say it's for losers. A lot of crazies also sit around on their computer all day too and do nothing physically active.

There are a lot of liberal-types (and other political sways) that have no concept of the value of self-defense and the real art of using the human body as a weapon. If you don't see martial arts as a natural progression, you should try to get abducted by those grey aliens that barely use their bodies...because they're soooooo evolved.

It isn't practicing to beat people up. It teaches respect and discipline. It shows people that exercise can be fun and that by practicing their forms that they can get better. My son is 6 and NOT a loser. He loves Tae Kwon Do and has never even thought about being in a fight.
