Use some good shampoo, try not to wash everyday, may be everyother day if your hair is not oily.

There is a shampoo called (Pureology), it does not have the sulfate stuff in it, and made especially for colored hair. A little expensive, but works great. You might want to try that. If you want something a little less costly, then try biosilk for colored hair.

Try not to wash it too much. Use distilled water to wash it. Sephora has a product called redo that you can use for in between washing they also have a filter for washing hair. Apparently the minerals and chlorine are hard on the hair. Those things are really expensive. Perhaps you can filter your own water to wash your hair and find a very mild shampoo for color treated hair. Baby shampoo is not mild it is full of detergent. Hope that helps. Just leaving water out overnight gets out the chlorine. I am not sure how much damage the minerals do. I guess it depends on what area you live in. I live in an area full of minerals. You can get an idea by how many spots you get on metal things around your water.

I know it's summer, but the sun lightens your hair (or turns it red). Wear a hat when you go out. Chlorine swimming pools can also change your hair color, but if you must swim, rinse or wash your hair as soon as possible. Shampoos for color-treated hair are more gentle on color and won't strip the color or dry your hair of essential oils.

With your dark reddish brown hair, I would recommend shampoo and conditioner with henna in it. It is a natural coloring agent that enhances hair color without lightening or fading it. It works for me.

Use "Color Thrive" shampoo and conditioner by Tresemme'. I have long straight hair and have problems with tangles. Tresemme' leaves me tangle free, shiny, and my color is vibrant!

I have brown curly hair and I have Blonde highlights. Maybe you should try lighter blonde, this might look better than brown, brown just looks kind of trashy.

Let the dye grow out and use your natural color. That will stay.
