Was the comforter promised to us until Jesus comes back and all the gifts that he comes with? Yes! also Jesus hasn't returned as yet and the comforter is still with us today and tomorrow until the saviour returns.
God bestows upon all members of His church in every age spiritual gifts which each member is to employ in loving ministry for the common good of the church and of humanity. Given by the agency of the Holy Spirit, who apportions to each member as He wills, the gifts provide all abilities and ministries needed by the church to fulfill its divinely ordained functions. According to the Scriptures, these gifts include such ministries as faith, healing, prophecy, proclamation, teaching, administration, reconciliation, compassion, and self-sacrificing service and charity for the help and encouragement of people. Some members are called of God and endowed by the Spirit for functions recognized by the church in pastoral, evangelistic, apostolic, and teaching ministries particularly needed to equip the members for service, to build up the church to spiritual maturity, and to foster unity of the faith and knowledge of God. When members employ these spiritual gifts as faithful stewards of God's varied grace, the church is protected from the destructive influence of false doctrine, grows with a growth that is from God, and is built up in faith and love. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:9-11, 27, 28; Eph. 4:8, 11-16; Acts 6:1-7; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; 1 Peter 4:10, 11.)

I am a Baptist, and I believe all the gifts are available today as the Holy Spirit deems necessary. I do NOT believe what we see on TV: being slain in the spirit, the speaking in tongues, and Benny Hinn healing are real. I Know it is all fake. Why anyone who is a christian can accept that is beyond me. The gifts of the Spirit further the kingdom of God-they do not make a fool out of it.
edit- good answer Damian.

The gifts are the same Just as God is the same. "The same Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow". Are you really asking do they all operate today? Why would they change? If God says "I am not a man that I would change, I change not." The question really is how are the gifts given, by whom, and for what purpose? We've seen people on television who were given gifts that cannot be revoked, abuse them and mis-use gifts such as healing. This does not say all are fake or mis-used. Truthfully, does anyone today seek GOD as much, as deeply, as passionately as the Apostles and Prophets of old? If we did, we would really see the gifts in operation. There are some humble servants who seek after God with all their hearts who have been given great gifts. I 've seen it at work... but you won't see them on television.

You're referring to speaking in tongues, I assume, and healing, raising of the dead, etc. Of course these "gifts" should be the same (for anyone who believes the NT), but most Christian religions hypocritically reject that idea. That's one reason (among many) Christianity is illogical - Christians can't agree on anything.
