Wrecked car into pole and damaged radiator/radiator core support. Somehow my clutch pedal is now stiff, making the car undrivable. How could of this occurred? I am trying to find where to look for the problem so I can fix it. 2001 Hyundai Accent, 1.6 L

The clutch is housed in an aluminium case so nothing can happen to it.

However, check the followings:
1. Is it worn out i.e. even before the accident whether it was really working fine. It may be pychological aspect also.
2. Adjust the clutch play as you do during the routine service. When you press the pedal the first 8-10 mm pressing should be free followed by a firm pressure feeling. If there is a bigger play and you are getting the firm pressure feeling when you are about to floor it then it needs adjustment (that means the pressure is not sufficient to detatch the clutch from the rotating face plate).

That's all...

it truly is ideal, you're speaking about 2 separate collisions. First collision became the motor vehicle hitting you from the rear. the 2d collision became you hitting the motor vehicle in the front of you. in case you had saved the proper distance between your motor vehicle and the motor vehicle in the front of you, the 2d collision doesn't have occurred. Why ought to the insurer of the motor vehicle that hit you from behind be answerable for the motor vehicle in the front of you, because you've been following too heavily?

tweaked or bent clutch cable, perhaps the level that the cable is connected to is bent.
