sometimes the fear of being alone is greater then the humilation of being with someone who doesn't want you. sad and pathetic for sure.... but, some people have had hurtful lives and are afraid of being alone or are scared finacially.

ummm..sometimes, i think it's because they want to make other people feel jealous..but other times it could be because they're lonely. try asking the person if you two just want to be friends?
