I agree with another answerer. Student restrooms are quite disgusting. Also could be ducking bullies. They also may be shy when it comes to doing the biz at school. I would think as long as they are being clean and not vandalizing then I wouldn't worry too much. If traffic gets to heavy, maybe you could talk to the school janitor about cleaning the students restrooms more often, or fixing those horrible stalls with the broken locks or removed doors. Bathrooms could also be monitored by staff (in rotations of course) in between the changing of classes to prevent bad behavior.

Why not put a lock on the door. I work in a federal medical center and a lot of the staff restrooms have locks on them and only the staff can get into them. As all the staff have a central key. As for the kids, why not when they are caught, make them clean it for a set number of days.

Talk to the kid. There may be a good reason that he/she is avoiding the restroom that should be used. Agorophobia, Bully, Smokers etc.

put a lock on the door and give the key only to teachers.
if they know which students did it they can punish them somehow like by taking away their priviledges to compete in school sports or by suspending them or something like that.

Leave em' alone!HAVE YOU EVEN seen the flipin' KIDS BATHROOMS! DISGUUSTING!!unless they deface something.
or set rewards for your class.if they get an A on some test,they get to use the faculty bathroom for a semester!!!!!!!!!
