People do not become retarded at age fifty. Though they might suffer brain damage at age fifty.

A retarded man at age 50 is the same as he was at 30 or 20. It depends on the degree of retardation. Some are fully functional if they are mildly retarded but will have some child like qualities. If they are severely retarded, they are like little babies.
