Just don't do anything until he asks you out and when or if he does, talk to your friend about it.

Talk to your friend about it...would she be okay with you dating him if he asked you out? If so, then no worries but make sure she's being honest with you...
If the guy goes out with her instead, then consider the matter closed and him off limits...there are plenty of guys out there, no reason to be worrying prematurely about not being able to date a friend's ex...
OR write him off now so the situation doesn't cause either of you any grief...guys will come along over and over, but real friends are a treasure and worth their weight in gold...don't ever toss aside a friendship over lust/hormones...

Tell her what he said ,she might not have a problem with it. Better to be upfront and honest with her because if u like him and he likes you you do not wanna start off on the wrong foot. but if u see she is hurt by it when u tell her then you all could still be friends!

personally i think you should both just leave the guy alone. If both of you like the same guy then neither of you should date him. Its too risky and no guy comes before a friendship.

Friendship lasts longer than boyfriend relationships do, so I would have to say that you not think about getting together with him, and you and your friend agree that you don't see him. Go find another guy that you friend doesn't like, and then you'll be happy. :D

Have a threesome. That should take care of everything. In all seriousness, why don't you give yourselves some time to grow up a little before you concern yourselves with such issues?

Don't do it unless you talk to your friend about it first, it will ruin your friendship if you do it without her approval. Also, do you think he could be telling her the same thing as you?

He likes you AND your friend and you know this !! He doesn't sound like a trusting person and by you dating him behind you friend's back..not good. Believe me it will come back to bite you in the butt. He sounds like a PLAYA !! don't get played!!!

I suggest you both jump his bones at the same time. You'll then know by whoever he spends the most time with.
