Anybody watch the UFC fights on pay per view? The Ortiz VS. Shamrock fight was stoppped in like 20 seconds. Do you think it was stopped to early, do you think there should be another rematch, or should Ken Shamrock save face and just disapear?

The fight was stopped a little premature but I do feel that if it went a little longer (about 15 seconds), Shamrock would have been knocked out. What Ortiz said appeared to be true. After the first elbow to the head, Shamrock appeared to go limp. He was definitely dazed, if not knocked senseless. He appeared to be running on instinct on the next couple of head blows. He definitely was not defending himself. If it did go on, he would have received more punishment.

The UFC doesn't have that many rules (more than it had in the beginning as Ive watched almost everyone one ... I was hooked after renting the first one from Blockbuster)

Probably the most important rule is that a fighter must "intelligently defend " themselves at all time.

Shamrock was offering no resistance (couldn't contain Tito in the guard, wasn't blocking the shots, wasn't punching back) so at 1:38 into the fight Herb Dean did the right thing and stopped it.

Ken had a great career and if the fought in their prime it might have been more competitive.

Shamrock had Gracie and Severn as his foil hopefully Tito finds the same kind of competitive rivalry with Lidell.

I didn't see the fight, but from the discussion I've heard, the stoppage was right on. I've never seen a fight where I disagreed with a referee's decision to stop the fight. All of the UFC Refs , with the possible exception of Mario Yamasaki (missed the low blow in Hughes vs. Trigg 2), are very good and know that their first and foremost duty is to protect both fighters and prevent them from getting too beat up. I'm surprised that Big John wasn't given that fight, but it sounds like the stoppage was right on.

As far as Shamrock retiring, I think he should. His last two fights in the UFC have lasted a total of less than four minutes and they were both losses. He lost in 2 minutes and change to Rich Franklin in the TUF1 Finale, and then gets his a** beat down by Tito in this match. Shamrock should retire and be done with it.

I used to like Shamrock more, especially as a person. He's not a ******** like Tito is, but as a fighter I think he's washed up. I'm 49 now and I could never...no matter how hard I trained fight and WIN a dude that is rated in the same category as me. There is just no way he can ever beat Tito and I hate to admit it. He said he trained super-hard for the fight, but his defense is not good anymore. Even Rich Franklin beat him, but only after Ken fell after attempting to kick Franklin in the head. I DO think they stop the fights too soon, but for moral and ethical reasons only. If Ken could just get a good punch or knee in, it may change things around, but he doesn't seem to have the drive anymore. Give it up, Ken. Start selling the Ken Shamrock Lean Frying Machine or something. I do hate Tito, though. I wish I could kick his you know what because he's too mouthy for me.

Yes, I watched the fight.

No, the fight was not stopped too soon. The safety of the athletes is the most important thing to remember. Ken was not defending himself. If Tito would have given Ken 5 unanswered elbows in the third round, no one would have questioned the Herb Dean's judgment.

They'll be a rematch. Ken is too arrogant to retire after losing to Tito that way.

Ken "Sham"rock should just retire already. Tito has whupped on him...how many times now?

If they hadn't stopped the fight, Ken Shamrock would have had to retire definitely. Why?

Because he would have had the living snot beat out of him.

thats a tough question because he was getting hit hard but you can see him trying to put his hands up. it is still a form of entertainment and the ref needs to keep this in mind. this has been one of the most anticipated fights in the past year. and just to call the fight like was very disapointing. you have to keep the entertainment in mind. i dont know.

i dont thnk that tito should fight ken again. he wont gain anything for winning but the does run the risk of getting hurt if he fights him again.

it was actually 1:18 but yes the fight should of been stopped, watching it back on slow motion Ken got rocked by 5 crushing elbows and it would of been 10 if it wasn't stopped, it only takes one shot to severely hurt someone for life, even though it was not a popular stoppage it was right

May have been a bit premature but it may have ended 10 seconds later and 10 or 15 more elbows but we'll never know.

Rematch, and let us see it for Free that's what I think.

After that he can retire.
