I wasn't allowed to go on dates until I was 15, but I had my first real boyfriend at 14. Dates aren't really worthwhile until you are at least 16 though because it can take that long to be totally comfortable.

In my family, the age we could one-on-one date was 16. Prior to that it could only be in groups, with adult supervision. I believe my first real date was about 3 months before my 17th birthday.

I had a real b/f when I was 14/15 and didn't go out on dates until like 17/18. My mom didn't like it. My first date was like prom night, the first boy come meet my mom, but my mom didn't like him. Didn't go out again until 20, that's when I meet my current boyfriend and my mom digs him.

Wow, you people make me feel like a late bloomer. I didn't go on a real date til I was 22. Of course, that's because I was shy and terrified of guys. Now I'm less shy and less terrified, but it's not all gone.
