From a scientific standpoint, I think we humans, as animals, tend to divulge in a fatty, high-caloric diet to help us throughout the winter monthes. Since our earlier ancestors didn't have the luxury of having canned, frozen or instant foods or a McDonald's, they like bears, tended to load up when the temps dropped, then ride it out. Trouble is for us current versions, those calories continue to stockpile as fat and we struggle every spring to regain our original size. So I think nature wants us to savor the heartier foods in the colder monthes to ensure you live to see the spring.

Oh dear, decisions decisions!
Both are sooo good! But, since summer is so short where I am, I have to go with summer. Salads, veggies, grilling, stuffed tomatoes with tuna, home grown tomatoes everynight. yummy!
Winter...caseroles, fried chicken, collards, stews, chili, homemade soups. yummy!
Aw hell, I just like to eat...lol
Have A Good Day!

I agree with you. To me, winter foods are more homestyle. They are generally "heavy" foods that we all love. Comfort foods always remind me of my mom's cooking. And is she a great cook. I grew up on fried seafood and can't wait for fried oysters, too! They're one of my favorite foods.
