Because religion does not deal in empirical proof. Religion is based on faith and spirituality, as opposed to reason and physical reality. Science deals with the latter, but because there are no experiments to objectively test the supernatural, science cannot provide any empirical proof (or disproof!) of God's existence.
So. Neither religion nor science can provide you with empirical proof. What's left? Faith. Whether you have it or not is a personal choice. Unless something very unexpected happens that either proves or disproves the existence of God beyond any doubt, I don't see that lack of proof changing anytime soon. If ever.

Why can't evolution provide evidence either? There is enough evidence to believe in God and Jesus and there is enough evidence for you not to believe - you have freedom to choose and I hope you choose wisely.
Look at these prophecies from the Bible:
A. Four world empires to arise: Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome (Daniel chapters 2, 7, 8).
B. Cyrus to be the warrior to capture Babylon (Isaiah 45:1-3).
C. After Babylon's destruction, it would never be inhabited again (Isaiah 13:19, 20; Jeremiah 51:37).
D. Egypt would never again have a commanding position among the nations (Ezekiel 29:14, 15; 30:12, 13).
E. Earth-shaking calamities and fear toward the end of time (Luke 21:25, 26).
F. Moral degeneracy and decline of spirituality in the last days (2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Keep searching for truth and you will find it.

God is defined in such a way as to be untestable, which is proof enough that it's a man made concept.
If Jesus actually existed, he left no real trace of himself outside the propoganda spread by early Christians. Unfortunately, that's so tightly coupled to myth and legend that we can't really know anything at all about the man Jesus, if he existed. It's not unlike trying to figure out what historical St. Nicholas was like based only on "The Night Before Christmas". If that was all we had, we wouldn't be able to say anything at all about the 'historical santa', other than to identify the time period at which the myth was first recorded.

As for proving God, insisting on empirical proof would be fallacious, given the definition of "God." It's like asking me to make you some boiling ice. However, the philospoher Spinoza did claim to have "proven" the existence of God, using a very complicated logical argument.
As for Jesus, we have similar proof that he existed as we do that other historical figures existed. There are the gospel acconts themselves, which at very least SUGGEST that he existed. Most historians today do not doubt that he existed, just as most historians agree that George Washington existed. I would be hard-pressed to PROVE that GEo Washington was an actual person. BUt we have enough written evidence to suggest that he did actually live.
At least one ancient historian, Josephus, makes a reference to "a disturbance in Jerusalem involving the followers of CHRESTUS," which COULD be an indicator that Jesus Christ was an actual person. (Josephus was not a Christian, he was Jewish.)
Although, I don't know if you mean "Did Jesus exist?" or "Is Jesus divine?"
(It's EXISTENCE, not EXISTANCE, Einstein.)

because those who ask for the empirical proof are more interested in discrediting the existential of God than believing it. So no matter empirical the proof is, they just won't accept it. They have pride in governing their lives. They don't want to hear the fact that they are not the one who control their lives, let alone the universe.
You can't convince a frog who lives in the well the existence of an ocean. and when you force it out of the well and put it into the ocean, it dies.

I do not think there is question whether or not Jesus existed. There is proof of his existence. Whether he was the son of God, born to a virgin and he died for our sins.... this is what is questioned. I believe the bible is the only thing they have. It was not a world of phone cameras and portable DVD cameras. The only thing they could have done was to write about it. Even then, things tend to change as things get translated. What kind of proof are you looking for? As far as proof of God... I once heard it like this and it really hit home for me. I can look at a fork and I know it is real. I know someone made it, but I have never seen the maker of this fork. I do not need convincing that the fork had a creator. If I look at a banana, I see it is a banana and I know someone made it. I do not need to see the creator for proof.

If the electrons inside an atom rotates the same way the earth rotates in anti-clock wise direction, would that be a proof that a smart creator is there. If we agree to call it God, so what is the issue.
Also, what type of proof that would like for Jesus to exist?

I believe there is proof that there was a man called "Jesus" around the time of Jesus in the bible...
However, just because he was most likely alive, doesn't prove he is somehow divine.
As far as proving god, why is there no proof that there isn't an easter bunny or santa claus? the burden of proof is on the believers...not unbelievers.

That's what is wrong with this world, everyone wants proof. That is when you need faith. The Lord God sent proof years ago when He sent Jesus and then people still didn't believe, why would you think proof would make a difference now??

Hi,
History does prove the existence of Jesus, and that He was even crucified on a cross, but more than anything we believe because of faith. You must believe in something that you can't touch or see, you just know in your heart and soul that its there. Anyway do some research on the middle east as far back as you can find and you will see that Jesus was a real person on earth.
