what do you mean by 529? you need to add more details to your question if you want a answer i dont think many of us know what 529 is...it's just a number as far as im concerned?!?!

My husband set up a 529 savings plan to save for our son's college. You have to have $$ to put in - I think our plan requires minimum of $100 per deposit. It is better than jsut a savings account because it can have a higher rate of return. THere are some other tax incentives, but those are confusing. I think there are also management fees for the account.
