Actually, aren't you insulting sociopaths by throwing the religious zealots into the same group?

It's called a brain bypass. Not every zealot is a sociopath though. But sociopaths are often zealots.

Brain bypass happens when certain synapses aren't used. The neuron's stop firing in that range and the road gets washed away from lack of use. Nature always takes back the dead. So the brain works around the area, that is why it is called a brain bypass. It bypasses brain areas like rational thought and critical thinking.

Well, anybody that can take anything to the extreme, is also capable in my opinion, of being a sociopath!
