Kids and camping make a good push for Lunchables. They are easy to get, pretty filling and kids love them. Remember that fruit (apples, bananas and oranges,) are good too. Make sure to drink enough water out on the boat.

When I was little we woud make "homemade" trail mix. I always loved helping to make it and of course loved to eat it!!! :)
We would take raisins, M&M's, & cashews and mix it together, but since then I've made many different varieties... think of Chex mix... just whatever the kids like. Dried fruit are good because they don't "melt" if they get hot... any nuts, types or cereal, etc... Can also bring along a jar of peanut butter and their favorite veggies/fruits in sandwhich bags (celery, small carrots, apples, bananas). Have fun!

I call them hobo packs. Take some ground beef, potatoes and onions peeled and sliced. Season them with salt and pepper. Place portions in aluminum foil and make into a pouch. Cook in an oven or on an open fire until done. Serve in the aluminum foil, no plates or cooking pans needed.

make sandwiches and put them in a cooler. Bring baby wipes to wash hands. Pretty much anything that wont go bad and doesnt need cooked.....chips, pb&j, drinks, snack packs, lunchables, ect. whatever will fit in a small cooler.

build you a fire and do the classic hot dog camping. You can fish and cook them, it depends on how far you would go to eat, do you want easy or complicated foods. I suggest hot dogs, smores, bologna.

hot dogs over the fire.
we used to make pita pizzas...put pizza sauce in a piece of pita bread...then veggies & meat...then wrap in foil and warm in fire.
we cooked baked potatoes.
also hobo stew: put veggies, potatoes & meat in foil and cook in fire.
s'mores are graham crackers, chocolate bars & marshmallows.
or just cook marshmallows over the fire.
bring coat hangers to unwrap to use for cooking.
i'm assuming you mean fire, not cooking in an RV or something.
sandwiches are good and easy, also if no fire.
