Why are questions on sharia law, particularly those involving Hadd offences always removed from this forum?
Twelve northern Nigerian states voted to bring in sharia law, so presumably they must believe there are benefits to the system. Can anyone please explain the system in a deeper way than the sensationalist headlines we occasionally get in the West?

Sharia Law.
If it is going to be applied, It should first be On GOODNESS.
though Iam a MUSLIM and a BELIEVER of my religion, but i condemned the way Jaffar Numeiri put it in existence, Cutting hands of thiefs, Just like that? Did he ask the man why he stole, and many countries, i cant recall all. But what happened last given bad name to Islam...while it shouldnt be like that. WHY because these people dont have any knowledge reall KNOWHOW. I think the Sharia Law should first start with the Prime ministers, Presidents and the ministers, Do they first of all comply with the Sharia Law? A person could not commit theft, if not in dire need of food; now first off all The Mr President get hold of the minister of labour and work...How come this name did get him a job?..Why...and if (as usual our govt here) no concreate reason CUT his hand[i mean the Minister concerned first ]
and see the result of the other ministers what will they do in futrue.
I can imagine that, At that time these so calleing themselves as leaders, were using this Decoy as to Scare the others, but NOW mr presidnet has given them a NEW DECOY..Terrorist...unless something being done, these arab leaders, with limited knowledge of our religion; are the main cause of these killings.

Questions on Sharia law tend to be removed because so far this century Islam is doing a really good job at inciteing hatred and fear throughout the world. So its a pretty good idea to keep the subject as quiet as possible so as to not offend all those poor souls who have lost friends and family to religious maniacs in the name of Allah

It's the law that was given to Abraham and Moses and Jesus but the problem before Quran is that people of that time didn't know how to imply the law and still don't.
In Quran you will see the solutions to imply those laws. Name any social issue and there is an answer in the Sharia Law. I don't know any other religion that not actually tells you the law but also tells you how to imply it also.

Your best bet is to go to an Islamic website. Sharia law is too vast for a learned Muslim to type an explanation here.
