Worst is darts nights. If you dare speak you are shushed by a load of beer bellied freaks throwing spears.

yes, yes and yes. I kind of agree with the dude who said children but it is sometimes nice to be able to go to a nice pub with my kids. After nine, they shouldn't be there anyway so I don;t see the problem with that.
I don't mind karaoke, I usually laugh at the awfulness as I do with crap groups although the worst always seem the loudest! I don't like really loud music. I like to be able to go out for a drink and a chat with friends. The music spoils it.
The worst thing has to be loud crap groups!
Really, the type of "entertainment" should depend on the place but now there are too many places where you get crap bands and noise instead of music so if you don't like it, you don't have a choice.

Music is fine if it is at a level where one can hold a conversation with other people. Music is fine as long as it doesn't drown out conversation. ESPECIALLY if the music is chart music! 60's/70's/80's music is fine played at a 'tidy' level, but when this dance/house/garage/hiphop/grunge cr@p is played I like to make a hasty retreat!
As for Karaoke, I used to enjoy singing (ok, trying to sing) a song or two. The only problem is, is that some people karaoke too seriously!!!!! The one's who THINK they can sing, usually can't! some put multiple requests in and frown & pout until they can take to the mike again, and don't want to listen to the other singers, and some karaoke 'DJ's' who have regular spots in their local pub, tend to pick out their favorite singers or friends, & they then tend to hog the mike all night.
As for crap groups, if there is one playing down my local, I just move onto the next pub.

The most annoying thing is people going through all of their ringtones at full volume in the pub. Don't mind music and karaoke is normally only on once a fortnight. Time for a beer...

I agree that it's loud noise that annoys me in a pub! I know I might sound like an old fogey, but if you go to a pub you expect to be able to chat to your friends without having to shout so much you make yourself hoarse by the end of the night. I go out clubbing if I want to party, not a pub!

Yep, I hate the loud overbearing noise where I can't even hear myself speak. Most people who do karaoke want to think they are great but it more often than not sounds pretty bad on the other end. Also, people who have loud conversations and it's clear that they have no idea what they are talking about.

Karaoke is the worst
Amature once a year drinkers at christmas
Bloody TV in pubs
No real ale
Dirty tables+bar
Idle bar staff who serve their mates first(in a strange pub,its OK in my local)
Over loud music(ok if its Hawkwind obviously)
Last orders

I can cope with music, and maybe a small amount of karaoke. The one thing that annoys me is the large group of suits who turn up on a Friday night as though its their local and you cant get anywhere near the bar. They all have this loud laugh and are all dressed out of a catalogue. Or is it me......?

I like the Karaoke, hate the loud music, like when bands play but would be nice if the volume was down a little so we can chat it up and hear even ourselves think!!! :)

I don't like really loud music, you should still be able to hear the person next to you. I tend to avoid any pub that does Karaoke!!

Loud music is called for from time to time so I know where to go when I want it loud and when I'm not interested in that.
Karaoke is funny as hell, but I couldn't live with to much of it. I personally love to watch the drunk fools sing their sad little hearts out.
What gets to me the most are the pissy people, you know who they are as soon as they walk in. Nothing is good enough, they complain all night and I just want to kick their butts. If it is that dang bad just get the heck up and go!
