Boers or Afrikaners if you like are of mixed Dutch,English and French Huegonot ancestry. Do a search for the "Great Trek" through the Transvaal for some interesting stories about the Boers.

They were Dutch, French and German settlers. Boer is the Dutch word for farmer. The common term is Afrikaner.

It's not Boars - it's Boers and they originated from Holland.

The word 'boer' is Dutch for 'farmer'.
