Its just against the law to drive drunk, which now is a ridiculousy low amount. Why isnt the alcohol lobby as good as the tobbacco lobby? We all know politicians are drunks and so are most cops, why cant we come together and raise the blood alcohol limit to .12 something where you can get a good buzz on???

because the law is not there to keep you from having a good buzz if you want to do that stay home or get a cab or someone sober to drive you home. It is there to save innocent people from being killed or hurt. Unlike seat belt laws which really don't affect anyone but you this law is there to protect others and if you cant understand that you don't even deserve to have a drivers license.

Tobacco hasn't been proven to cause impairment to the point it's use could immediately kill the user. the users immediate family or some other innocent soul on the road. (I use IMMEDIATE because if you smoke a pack and go drive you won't IMMEDIATELY kill anyone from it like you do with alcohol.) Saying all THIS or THAT person are drunks (being a cop or politician is a JOB not a race of people) make me wonder why you left out all other people that we "KNOW" are drunks? Only factual information pointing the finger at who are drunks carry weight with me. Show me the facts.

Agreed. it's all a big money scam started by zelous prohibitionists @ssholes.

Hegelian cycle. Problem -> Reaction -> Solution.

Problem is defined by downright deceptive reporting tactics by police. IE: If a pedestrian gets hit by a sober driver while taking their Prozac it is recorded as "drug/alcohol involved" incident. This is interpreted and as a DUI accident and helps skew statistics in the favor of the MADD/Highway Safety agenda. If you have 2 sober drivers and a passenger under the influence: "drug/alcohol involved". If you have a 16 year old high on meth who flips a care "drug/alcohol involved". Alcohol will be blamed whenever drugs (illegal and legal) are at the scene. Because of this the "problem" will never go away.

Reaction: there has been an incredibly devious propaganda campaign socially equating "drunk drivers" with murderers, pedophiles and total degenerates. Carefully placed references into television helped illicit a state of hysteria over the incredible frequency at which innocent people are killed by "drunk drivers"

Solution: strict "policing" that completely trashes the constitution: random search and seizure, right to an attorney, 5th amendment, right to a jury trial. All governments are forced into compliance by a government body in an church/state like relationship with MADD. Insurance companies lobby fiercely as a DUI conviction gives them mandate to more than double rates, despite the fact that it makes for a much safer driver.

The whole god damn thing is an outrage about taking money from citizenry. Tickets, court fees, legal fees, lawyer's fees, driver’s license revocation fees, drivers license reinstatement fees, jury fees, court fines, auto impound fees... They can take your car for having 1 beer and breaking NO TRAFFIC LAWS for God's sake! Not to mention the dozens of organizations and businesses that receive kickbacks and capital: ignition locks, alcohol treatment programs, tow truck companies. You name it, it is an entire industry based on lies that redistributes moneys without “3rd world” type corruption. At least in the 3rd world, they take your money without lying to your face and dishonoring the dead with their agenda.

Innocent victims of DUI drivers likely number less than people who drown in personal swimming pools. The cited book (below) accurate statistics have it as low as under 20.

Here's a great book on what an outrage the whole situation is:

AND FOR THE RECORD it NOT illegal to drink and drive anywhere in the US and.08 is not buzzed! The governments own research (read the book) stated that at .10 the most noticed effect was an increaded reaction time. So what did they do? Re-did the research to make the findings support their agenda. And by lowering the limit to .08 there hasn't been a significant decline in highway deaths. However, you can bet your *** their has been a significant increase in fines!

In Texas, we have open container laws. You cannot have any opened beer bottles or beer cans, this includes liquor containers as well, in the vehicle. Even if its totally empty, in the floor board, been there a week. You can be fined. So yes, it is against the law, in Texas, to drink and drive.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I lost a sister to a drunk driver! If you ever lose someone you will know why it's so low. There are a lot more people killed by drunk drivers than there are people killed by someone smoking. It's not god to drink and drive, trust me I know!

Sure- if your BAL is below .08 in most states it's legal to "drink" and then get in the car to drive. But for most people you have to nurse 1 beer for like an hour for that to happen!

you've an extremely strong aspect. see you later as we obviously outline what "reckless using" is, then i imagine lets simplify the books slightly. regardless of the indisputable fact that, after that your aspect fails. The evaluation to guns and homicide would not artwork. There aren't any guidelines antagonistic to autos.
