Hi, I am going to Santa Monica in August 2006. Do you recommend a nice hotel at an affordable rate. I saw the Foghorn Harbor Inn in Marina Del Ray. Is that a nice place?

It's all going to be expensive unless you stay at one of the inland motels.
I suggest finding a room to rent, it will be much cheaper.
I know it doesn't sound inviting, but there are a zillion shelters near Venica and Santa Monica Beaches where you could stay.
Holiday Inn's usually have reasonable rates, but the one nr the beach is real expensive. Try to find a Best Western, they are very nice and give an triple A discount.

Bees, i love the Lowes hotel in Santa Monica simply by the indisputable fact that is sweet contained in the middle of each and everything. sure that is slightly extra expensive, regardless of the indisputable fact that that is definitely worth it. in case you walk from there as a lot because the accurate of the hill from the hotel there's a Segway condominium position it extremely is a complete blast.

I don't think there are any hotels in SM with affordable rates. The closer you get to the water, the higher the rate and the lower the standard.
