Try to find something that makes you feel good about yourself and concentrate on that rather than imagining what probably doesnt exist. From the sounds of things you are lacking in the self-confidence department. Remember, everyone will have opinions, only listen to those from whom you repect. The quickest way to get over a fear is to face it. Go out with her, and do it often. You will overcome your fear and it will make her happy in the process.

Get over your insecurity...why do you care what other people think? Those people aren't dating your girlfriend or you...she digs you and apparently doesn't care about the height issue and that's what matters...
Don't allow what non-involved parties think ruin your relationship (or fear of what people MIGHT say)...you knew she was taller than you from the time you first saw her, so why go out with her at all if her height is an issue for you?
It's your and her choice...and your and her life...no one else's...height has nothing to do with compatability, and chances are you're not going to get the reaction you fear, at least not often...

Fear is other people's feelings of guilt. Not yours.
Once you understand this, don't let another person's perception of you ruin or create fear for you.
You like this girl, and that is all what matters. Smile back whenever someone makes a comment. Humor will work bigtime when this happens. Think of funny phrases that you can say back to anyone who complains.

Think of it this way, taller girls need larger, well endowed men to satisfy them. If she is happy with you then you are above average in that regard. Take pride that they are talking behind your back, they probably think you're hung like a horse. Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't... but thinking about it that way should help you overcome your fear.

Get over yourself and your insecurity. I am 5'10" and have been taller than 2 husbands and every single one of my boyfriends. They like me because I have very long legs. I hate to brag, but I think I am very sexy.
No one is talking behind your back except if they are jealous. If you are that secure, let her go on and find someone else. Your a joke.

If you really love her than you wouldnt be afraid to go out with her in public. Frankly, theres no way to stop people from talking $hit. Most guys probably envy you or wish they had the guts to do what you do man. Dont be afraid to be different because different is good.

Why should it matter? It's not like you can control your height, or she can control hers. Besides, if the only thing that other people can find about you to gossip about is being shorter than your girlfriend, take that as a compliment.

you will never get away of ppl talking behind your back , not with her, not with any one else, ppl talk its human nature, ppl can be rude, caddy , selfish , ignorant, ect... what you need to do , is forget about everybody else, if you like this girl , then thats all that matters, see where it goes, dont ruin something potentially good, just for the sake of some stupid ppl,
