I'm not embarassed about anything. Jesus said be ashamed of me and I will be ashamed of you also. If you think that there is no God, then you'd better make sure you are right.

Not at all. I don't want to change my mind because I truly think I'm right. And why not? I have just as much evidence that God exists as you do that he doesn't. Maybe more (such as design in the universe, despite the second law of thermodynamics) And yeah, I know.... evolution could happen because of the sun giving off energy. But why isn't the sun totally unorganized? "There is not hope for any theory that contradicts the second law other than to collapse in totally humiliation" I don't remember who said that or the exact words, but that's the basic idea. Anyways, I'll tell you right now, I'm not afraid of the truth or embarased to admit when I'm wrong. If someone could prove God does not exist, I would admit it and live my life.
But a question for you. You seem from your answers to be very, um.... hostile? towards religion. Not the word I'm looking for, but oh well.... Why do you care if someone believes in God? If there is no God, nothing matters. If nothing matters, then we are just "specks of dust floating in the wind". Why does anything matter, including what we believe? And I really do wish I could know, I'm not just trying to start a fight.....
Anyways.... yeah...
Oh, and I will agree with you that a lot of people who say they are Christians, especially on here, are nuts. But claiming to be Christian does not make you one.

i'm no longer positive, darling, yet i understand that the individuals who push me to "admit" that i should be incorrect about the existence of god (I actual don't have any problem acknowledging that i should be incorrect), and go by potential of somewhat positive "ah ha!" ingredient when I do, are frequently an similar those who tell me that, contained in the face of overwhelming info on the opposite, they could proceed to position self belief of their deity because they regard blind, unregarding faith to be a distinctive feature. those human beings have little or no difficulty telling me that my considered and properly-concept-out position is immoral and evil and the manufactured from adlescent-like insurrection (i'm 40 seven and performance been an atheist for over 30 years) and refusing to think about some thing I say as valid. Then they are going to call me closed-minded because i do not tell them they're top. it truly is a secret to me how they could reconcile both, yet they don't look to ever see the hypocrisy. (((eric))) @Karl P, this question became no longer a rant. Your answer became better of a rant than this question, because you felt the pick to bypass off on some type of attack, quite than address the question itself.

To say that "atheists will tease" sounds immature. The is not a child's game nor any kind of game. You must realize that your precious time is wasting away with ur questions and comments. Life must not be important to you. You really need to understand that a lot people on here turn their lives over to God because of life's woes therefore these people their trust in him which brings no worries in what the future holds and brings. You will never get the chance to say "I told you so". I pray that you will change ur heart.

I have actually thought of that. It's hard to understand how anyone could be so stupid, so I've tried to figure out what other factors must be keeping them in. I think there's a lot of psychological reasons and embarassment may well be one of them.

I'm not worried about atheist, jew, muslim, agnostic, or any other 'religion' that anyone can mention.
Believers don't hesitate - they flat out "Refuse" to bend for ignorance.
Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
God is the only one we should fear...."fear" as in "REVERE"
The rest of 'em are just a bunch of loser 'gods' ~ who aren't gods at all....
(Now, I've told you so.)
God Bless.

The whole meaning behind the word believers is that they believe something. If you believe something, it usually takes a lot to change your mind. and due to the fact that there are many reasons to believe and many reasons not to believe, it is easy to be either way.

Embarrassment has nothing to do with it. Most people who practive the "universally accepted" religions are so brainwashed that they would never think of changing their minds and beliefs.

That's not it at all.
The fear is that they will live their lives without "meaning". Because they've never considered "meaning" outside of living for their god.
I know... I went through it myself, and it was terrifying to consider.
