In the a.m., it just might be low blood sugar. Eat breakfast, and you should be fine. Have a cracker bedside if you need to, and have this before getting up to see if that helps.

Are you overweight? Might be that you may be diabetic, if you've not been diagnosed with this. Maybe poor circulation due to weight gain, inactivity or immobility.

Do you exercise regularly? Might want to try increasing your cardie, and get that blood flowing with some oxygenation.

Are you elderly? Might be a TON of things.

Are you a drunk? Do you abuse alcohol or drugs? This can do it to you.

Are you on medications? Might be a bad mix.

Are you perimenapausal?

Are your knickers in a twist?

If you're standing up suddenly, it can just be caused by a sudden lack of blood to the head. But this can also be a side effect of really low blood pressure, or any number of other conditions or problems. You should see a doctor if this is something new that you are experiencing, or if it is severe and happens consistently regardless of how quickly you are standing up.

I have the very same thing happen to me. It kind of makes your head feel like it's being squeezed or something. I think this is caused from rising to quickly. All of the blood rushes either to or from your head and it needs tiem to adjust.

Blood pressure drop from blood actually draining out of your head. If it gets bad, get a Dr. to look at it.

it could be a problem w/ blood pressure or blood sugar. drink plenty of water. take deep breath exercises though-out the day to get your circulation flowing. and get up slowly until you feel you have it under control.

The symptoms you are describing are consistent with postural hypotension, but that may be symptomatic of something else. If the symptoms persist see your doctor immediately.
