Oh come on you guys!
It was no worse than Freaky Friday, or the Bad News Bears, or Benji.
I don't think that it was meant to be a cinematic masterpiece.
Just fluffy family entertainment.

the sappy prelude that kept me from ever viewing the Cosby show.

sadly, yes.

her dad (bill) was so childishly annoying, you really didn't care when he desperately was trying to tell her things.

i like bill otherwise.

But the weird thing for me is that I knew a preacher and his family that just LOVED the show.

yes I remember.... it was one of his not so shining movies..
quite silly. but good for one of those nothing on tv days..
