Are you more afraid of breaking the laws of God or the laws of Man?
And don't go with the easy answer, " I am afraid of breaking all laws"

I mean if your devotion is deep the Laws of Man can't touch you and your rewards lay beyond this life and really the laws of the Bible are a little more lax what with stoning and smiting so… which are Laws you would rather not be on the wrong side of?

The great principles of God's law are embodied in the Ten Commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ. They express God's love, will, and purposes concerning human conduct and relationships and are binding upon all people in every age. These precepts are the basis of God's covenant with His people and the standard in God's judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit they point out sin and awaken a sense of need for a Saviour. Salvation is all of grace and not of works, but its fruitage is obedience to the Commandments. This obedience develops Christian character and results in a sense of well-being. It is an evidence of our love for the Lord and our concern for our fellow men. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives, and therefore strengthens Christian witness. (Ex. 20:1-17; Ps. 40:7, 8; Matt. 22:36-40; Deut. 28:1-14; Matt. 5:17-20; Heb. 8:8-10; John 15:7-10; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 5:3; Rom. 8:3, 4; Ps. 19:7-14.)

I cannot break the laws of God or the laws of man. There is a passage in the Bible that states that we have to follow the laws of the land that we are part of. We also have to be subject to those who are placed over us (aka, laws/president/mayor/govener,etc) Just becase we are under God does not mean we don't have to follow the laws that govern everybody...

I would rather on God's "right" side. I am definitely more afraid of breaking God's laws. We shouldn't be afraid of man's laws. After all, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

The laws of God follow pretty much to the Laws of man. As a christian, I'm to try to follow all laws. Jesus did say Give to Cesaer what is Cesaer's and Give to God what is God's. He meant more than tithing and taxes, it goes with the fact that Governments are able to set laws that all need to follow.

What kind of question is that? Show me a normal democratic christian country in which there is a law that you SHOULD steal or SHOULD murder or SHOULD disrespect your parents or SHOULD...The country where those laws are active is the only country in which people have to choose between God and Man.

The laws expressed in the Biblical text *are* the laws of men (and I say "men" deliberately). The Bible is a large collection of human writings about God, expressing human insights, intuitions, experiences, and errors. The "law" of the Hebrew scriptures is the social code of a group of ancient Semites. Some of it, in the light of our deeper experience and insight, we still accept. Some of it we don't. Some of its insights are of enduring value (such as the emphasis the prophets placed on mercy towards the poor and the oppressed), and some are not (such as its portrayal of God as one who commands "His" chosen people to commit genocide against their enemies, or who commands gay people to be put to death).

Basically, there is no "law" communicated to us independently of the exigencies of human thought and feeling. The only thing that can adequately be called the "law of God" is the voice of one's conscience. And this, obviously, is also the deepest "law" of human beings. But only *you* can discern what your conscience is really telling you.

In short, I'm confident that if I am rigorous and reflective in my examination of my own conscience, I won't be on God's "bad side..." not that God has a "bad side," IMHO.

Jehovah's Witnesses do both. They "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, and render unto God what is God's." It doesn't have to be one or the other. Of course, you wouldn't want to follow a human law that breaks one of God's laws, in any case.

caesars things to caesar, but God's things to God. So obey govt laws as best i can, but if they go against God's laws and direction, then I would have to go with my faith and do what God commands.
