1/4 a cup. I'm pretty sure. I know 1 cup of spinach is 1/2 a cup of frozen, so going by that 1/4 would substitute for 1/2.

Take your frozen spinach (1 package) and let it thaw.. I wrap mine in a clean towel and squeeze all the water out..You'll be surprised to see how much is in there.. I would say you'll need about 2 packages of frozen spinach to equal 1/2 cup of spinach.

depends on what the recipe is for.
if you are cooking the spinach, then I would say use 1/4 cup or so. Maybe more to your tastes.
If you are not cooking the spinach and you intend to eat it like a salad preparation; whole leaves, then don't use frozen.
Recipes have wiggle room for ingredients to be adjusted, generally. You don't always have to be exact with everything, so long as you remember that what you do will change the outcome.
(so have an idea of what your change will bring!)

Not much ... like 1/8 cup? Frozen spinach is so compacted. But if I were you, I'd use fresh if I could ... their texture is a lot different. What sort of recipe is this?

A cup would be 8 ounces, so divide a 10 ounce box and take a bit less, in other words slightly less than half of a 10 ounce box of frozen spinach, or 4 ounces.
