Being a past Navy Corpsman working with marines down at Parris Island...it's not "simplified"...it's Semper Fi which means always faithful.

The say "SEMPERFI" wich is short for Semper Fidelis. Semper Fidelis is the Marine Corps Motto, meaning always faithful.
