I think a lot of it has to do with the amount of cliques that have been formed in and outside of school. There's the "pretty girls", the "jocks", the "punks, ect. And when someone doesn't fit into that category, they find a need to pick on that person and make their life a living hell. It's uncalled for, but people don't know when to stop. Suicidal teens don't know how to cope with these problems because sometimes even the parents are blind to the constant bullying their child has to endure. Some teens don't feel they have anything left to live for, and take their lives. Parents and true friends play a great role in the mental health of a person. If they have people around them who care for and love them for who they are, they realize there really is something to live for.
Never judge a book by it's cover, because you never know what they've been through. "Treat everyone as you would want to be treated." Trust me, that saying goes a long way. Being nice to a complete stranger could definitely turn their life around.

Life isn't the same as it used to be in the past. Everyone used to alot happier, there was less crimes and students could go to school without worry. For some reason the world went crazy and depression so happens to be a common thing now. People with depression usually try suicide as a desperate attempt to escape. Someone who does not think about suicide wouldn't really understands what goes on through someone's head that is suicidal.

Emo music and emo friends
Ok for my serious answer now:
Society encourages it. Today we live in a world where everything is cured with a drug. Some kid has a hard time coping with a breakup with their girlfriend, they're told to go see a psychiatrist, get diagnosed with a serious form of depression and get 3 different kinds of depression medication. People don't seem to just have a down on their luck days anymore, they have down on their luck lives, because there has been this fad of pillpushers convincing them that they do. They get written drugs they don't need, instead of just someone who can understand what they're going through. They have music that is very down trodden, with messages of heart break and pain and agony. Then most of all, some just can't handle the pressure. The norm now is you have to have good grades and go to college to be successful in the world, some kids struggle in school and feel like the world is going to end after high school because they're not good enough to go to college. There's so much pressure for them, and it seems like there's no one to just listen. I shouldn't have used they in this paragraph either, because I'm 19 and one of them as well.

Adolescence is a very difficult time for most people. Teens are under enormous social pressures, scholastic pressures and to top all of it off, changing bodies and elevated hormone levels can add to moodiness and depression. The difficulty for parents lies in figuring out if their moody teenager is suffering from clinical depression or just normal teen anxieties. (Even normal teen anxieties can lead to suicides, though these are more often accidentally successful suicides, which were meant as a cry for help). I think it is very important to listen to teens and provide them an opportunity to vent their frustrations and anxieties, and help them talk through their problems to try to prevent such tragedies.

Someone suggested it, most teenagers do not face death or know about it.
Just send them to the nearest job counselor or college counselor. The others are entertainment services the city has for children, usually its labeled by the city offices. Bowling, Library, Swimming, County Fair ground weekend, city park affair weekend, community development, ice rink, mini-golf, mini-racer, local theather involvement...

People who comment suicide r people that r sooo depressed and so upset that they just can't handle it anymore.
Also they might not feel loved by their family.
They might not have any friends or everyone at their school picks on them or makes fun of them.
