I've had my navel pierced for about a week now. It seems to be healing OK but the area around the top hole is starting to peel. Is there anything I can do for this?

Make sure you keep it clean and use saline (like contact solution) to clean it. The reason it is peeling is because you've cut into the skin. It will be fine... mine did the same thing. Just keep the whole area clean. I can't say that enough... it's so important. Don't use anything but saline to clean it because it will cause delayed healing. God knows it takes almost 6 months to heal as it is.

Good luck

I had my navel pierced too. And the best thing is to keep an antibiotic ointment like bactine on it. But the peeling is a normal part of the healing process, so don't worry!!

its pretty normal to have some peeling. If you are still using bactine on it, stop and start usinga solution of salt water (warm) instead. Just put some warm water and salt in a glass, and then tip it onto your belly so it suctions over the piercing. It'll help it heal faster an dreduce the peeling from being washed with harsh chemicals.

Clean it with an antiseptic solution. Make sure it dries properly then put some baby oil on there.

Try some antibiotic cream but it's just your body trying to heal

Contact your piercer and tell him/her what happened. He/She should give good advice...
