Yes, I believe this is Israel today. I believe they still enjoy Gods favor hence the reason they are still around. The Jews will always be Gods chosen people.

The Bible doesn't teach that Israel will become a nation in 1947. That is false interpretation forced on the Bible.
In fact was it 1948 ? This is more follishness from the self proclaimed prophecy experts of today. Read "Last Days Madness." By Gary DeMar.

Israel is a nation that doesn't as a whole accept the Messiah(Jesus).
Doesn't the Bible says those that reject the Son rejects the
Father ?
They are a nation like any other nation . God destroyed the temple. He divorced Israel. And the church as others have said is todays spiritual Israel.

When the Bible speaks of Israel in the last days, it is not referring to the natural state of Israel. It's referring to annointed Christians, the "new nation" who make up a spiritual Israel. Is this a new thought to you? Then check out

Romans 2:28, 29
John 8:39

The natural state of Israel was cast of by God in 70 C.E. . Although individual Jews can benefit by the ransom sacrafice of Jesus (if they excercise faith), the nation as a whole no longer enjoys God's favor. The Christian Congregation is the "new nation" where God's spiritual temple can be found (1 Peter 2:5-10).

I will not claim to be an expert... but I am of the Christian Faith and you quote the Bible of the Christian Faith...so..

the political division that is called Israel today.. is not the restored Nation of Israel... That will not happen untill they, The Nation of Israel, retake all of the Land granted to Abraham...
At that time many of The Nation of Israel will acknowledge Jesus The Christ and The Church will be unitied and all of God's people will be one...

In Judaism, there are 3 or 4 major understandings:

1. resurrection in the future
2. return of the exiled Jews to Israel
3. rebuilding the temple
4. rebirth of religion and spirituality within each of us

many see the state of Israel as an offshoot of those interpreations
