They don't actually swim. They more or less gallop underwater.

Yes, hippos can swim very well. They are one of the only truly amphibious mammals. They even sleep in the water. Also, they can run very fast. They are very territorial and dangerous.

yes they can.yhey can adapt to water by keeping their skin smooth.being large and plum is not a problem,as it is a fact that elephants are the best of swimmers

i dun think they can do freestyle or backstroke kind of swim.. but they do swim.. i think they dog-paddle or walk on the seabed..
