Ever since i was little i felt like i never fit in with my sister and brother or my fathers family. i dont look anything like my siblings, they have dark hair and are tall, i have blonde hair and im short. every one says i look like my mom but i have some characteristics that my mother nor father have. My parents got divorced before i was concieved. My sister got mad at my mom one day and said that my 'father' was not my father, that i look just like this guy my mom dated after the divorce, my grandmother agreed. I have confronted my mother about this but she insist we have the same father. I want to know what i should do now, if i should take a DNA test where should i get it cheap and how whould i go about doing it?

I do sympathize with you. I have the opposite problem. I am not sure that one of my sons is really my genetic offspring. Make no mistake about it, he is MY SON. Even if I found out for sure that he is not my genetic child, he would still be my son.
Should you have a paternity test? Only you can answer that.
Let's say that you learn that you dad is not your genetic parent. How would that improve your life and/or your relationship with him? Or, if he is your genetic parent, how would that improve your life and/or your relationship with him?
If you really want to do it, you're going to need his cooperation. There are a couple of ways to do it.
First, find out what BOTH of your blood types are. Then, check the charts at the link below. However, blood type comparisons cannot tell for sure that he is your genetic parent, they can only tell you if he is not.
If the bloods types match correctly, you'll need a more specific test to find out if he is your genetic parent. Then can be purchased online, and mailed in.
Good luck to you. I hope you find what you are looking for.

For you own peace of mind. Go ahead and take the test, it may cost around $500, but so what! Why waste the time and effort it takes to worry about it. You can't put a price on your mental and emotional health. If the test proves that the man, you have been lead to believe is not your father, then hold your mother accountable to repay you. Truth be told she'd owe you allot more. If he is your father, you'll owe your mother an apology. To hell with apologizing to him...he hasn't been there for you anyway.

I am sorry that your dad has not been there for you. However, if you can get either of the men your "Father" or the mystery man that dated your Mom to participate. Contact the Maury Povich Show. He does these types of shows all the time in New York City.

The truth is your father is your father, whether biological or not. I would not push for this until you are older and it is not so sensitive a subject for your mom. If you do have a different father, your mom had reasons why she made the decisions she did. (((hugs)))

why is it so important for you to know, you dont need it for medical reasons?or do you just want to know to know.i think you should talk to your dad and ask him? if he has question about it, then ask your mom again, but i honestly dont know why you want to know.
