when i was 4 i started a fire that burned my house down and blamed it on the dog, should i confess?

Just let it go. Your family is over it and that will be your burden to bear. Hope the dog didn't get hurt!

You were only 4. I dont think your parents could be mad at a young child, a baby, for something like this. I think you should just let them know how things happened. I'm actually surprised you can even remember somehting from so long ago when you were so young. And like others have said, they probably already have an idea that it wasn't the dog. ;-)

that's hard and sad....I would say if it is really eating away at your conscious...tell them. But if you feel like just confessing and getting it off of your chest...tell a priest or counselor instead. I feel like some things should just be kept a secret to protect the innocent...personally, I could never tell my parents the truth.

how old are you now? is there any reason they should know? it would probably just upset everyone involved, including you, but if you really feel the need to get it out in the open....

I think it's up to you. The "truth will set you free". But, also I think your parents have already figured it out unless they believed you.
