You do not drink directly from the tap unless it is labelled as drinking water, usually in better known hotels only. Otherwise you buy bottled water from supermarkets, not roadside.

Water purifiers are chlorine tablets to sterilise water for safe drinking. You will need to wait at least an hour upon adding it to water to allow the chlorine to work and to dissapate somewhat before it is safe to drink. You can get them at pharmacies.

No. Do not drink the water. You shouldn't even brush your teeth with it, especially if you haven't been immunized of Hep A and B. After you see the water you will understand why water purifiers are pointless. Get bottled water. Some types are only like 10 Baht. That is like nothing, 30 Cents I guess.

Safe? Won't kill you. But you'll feel like dying afterwards.

All around (7-11 or just about any shop) are 5 baht ($0.13US) bottles of water
