Scientists don't need a reason to exist, they just do. The beauty of science is that it uses repeatable methods to prove things, and couldn't care less about the philosophical "whys". Not that philosophy is unimportant. It most certainly is. But it is separate from science. This is why so many people are becoming more and more uncomfortable with the direction that Christianity seems to be moving in North America, because it seeks to be a part of, and control, every aspect of existence. How medieval!

We need to know more about the world around us and what is going on in order to invent things to better life and just discover. Just because we know God created something doesn't mean we understand it or come up with solutions to certain struggles (necessity being the mother of invention). Some scientists make wrong conclusions and disagree, but for the most part, they are right.

Scientists exist so that we all can find out the details and truth about our world we live in. If it weren't for scientists, we'd probably still think Earth was the center of the universe and many, many other things.

First, God said, "Let there be science!" and there was science. God looked at the science, and said "It is good."
And the morning and the evening were the first day.
Much later, God said, "Let there be scientists!" and there were scientists. God looked at the scientists, and nodded.
God said "Look guys, I only asked you to explore, research, and share your findings with the world. I never said anything about making disciples."
And the evening goes on and on and on.....

Because it's a way to prove why things work. Some people don't take God for an answer.

Regarding existing things being probable or not, is a scientific proposition in the sense it can be tested, or at least debated, by various scientific means.
The statement, what this implies there is a "God" isn't really a scientific statement but rather is a philosophical one.

We exist to refute your book of lies, not that that hasn't already been done a thousand times over anyways. We are here to educate the masses and bring humanity forward instead of letting them stagnate on your outmoded ideas of fear and confusion and ignorance. We are here to provide the answers you cannot possibly hope to make sense of with your little story book of fairy tales and to provide the cures for those diseases which all your praying does nothing.

Scientist exist not only to help their fellow man, but to provide tangible answers that are not biased because of a Book.

It's human nature to explore things unknown to us, and that's what scientists do. Regardless of theology, humans have and always will try to learn everything we can (and the best way to do that is evidently hire someone to wear a lab coat).
